The University of Texas geology science folks visited recently to spend time primarily in the Fish Creek area of the park while staying at the research center. Here are some of their photos and comments.

“It is the third time where we came with a student class to visit the outcrops in Split Mountain Gorge area and the second time where we stayed at SBABDRC.The SBABDRC facilities were excellent, we were able to use internet to locate some outcrops using Google Earth. We used the large TV screens and boards to discuss with the entire group of students what we saw in the field.

There was plenty of places (large meeting room, tables) for students to work individually and in groups to draft their field observations and on their research projects. Overall the conditions were outstanding”
